The aisle in the old library
Bulbs hanging over the shelves and nobody else there.
Ingrid Lund
The library in the old part of town has one long room with shelves to the ceiling and bare bulbs hanging over the aisle. On a Tuesday morning it is empty.
I walk the length of it slowly, reading spines. I don't look for anything. I wait for a title to stop me.
What stopped me
A book about lighthouses from 1962. I didn't know I wanted to read about lighthouses. I read it in two days.
