Books
Spines at eye level
Shelving by colour lasted a week. Then I needed to find something.
Ingrid Lund
I saw a picture of a bookshelf sorted by colour and copied it. Red, orange, yellow, down to black. It looked wonderful.
Then I wanted a particular book and could not remember what colour it was. I spent twenty minutes. I put them back by author that evening.
A compromise
The books I reread go at eye level. Everything else goes by author. It is ugly. I can find anything in ten seconds.
