Streets
A skyline from the ferry
The towers looked like a bar chart against the evening sky.
Ingrid Lund
We took the commuter ferry across the harbour at sunset. Everyone else looked at their phones. I stood at the rail and watched the towers get bigger.
From the water they lined up like a chart, tall and short and one much taller than the rest. Lights came on floor by floor.
On land
From the street the city was noise and crowds and nowhere to sit. I preferred it from the water, where it looked like an idea instead of a place.
