Pancakes for whoever is awake
Sunday rule: the first one up decides how many we make.
My partner wakes at six and makes twelve. I wake at nine and make four. The children have learned to set an alarm when they want a big stack.
The batter is the same every week. Flour, milk, eggs, a pinch of salt, butter in the pan. The thick American kind only happens when there are guests and I want to look organised.
Toppings
Blueberries from the freezer, lingonberry jam, sugar if nobody is watching. Syrup is for birthdays. I don't know who made that rule. It might have been me.
