A tablet that lives in the kitchen
It has flour in the charging port and a recipe open from last March.
We had an old tablet nobody wanted. I put it on a wooden stand by the cooker and it became the recipe screen. It is slow, the battery is tired, and it is the most useful thing in the house.
The screen times out every two minutes, so I touch it with my knuckle while my hands are covered in dough. There is a smear on the glass shaped like my knuckle.
What else it does
Timers, the radio, the occasional video call with my sister while I stir. She says she can only see the ceiling. That is fine.
