A water lily in a bathtub
The old tub was going to the tip. Now it is the best pond on the street.
When we redid the bathroom the cast-iron tub was too heavy to carry out. So it stayed in the garden, half sunk in the ground behind the shed.
I filled it with rainwater and put in one water lily from the garden centre. It sulked for a season. This summer it opened a single pink flower, as neat as a teacup.

Frogs found it within a week. A blackbird bathes on the rim. The tub is more alive now than it ever was in the house.
