Lavender at the end of the day
I planted it for the bees. I stay out there for the smell.
Karin Moberg
The lavender bed runs along the south wall where nothing else would grow. Gravel, sun, no water. It loves it.
In July the bees are so loud you can hear them from the kitchen. In the evening, when they go home, I sit on the step and run my hand through the stems. The smell stays on my fingers until bed.
Cutting it back
You have to cut it hard after flowering or it goes woody. I always cut too little. Next year I will be braver. I say that every year.
