Notes
A notebook only for the garden
Sowing dates, frost dates, and a lot of crossed-out plans.
Karin Moberg
I keep one notebook for the garden. It has dates in it, which plant went where, and whether it worked. Mostly it did not.
Reading it in winter is humbling. Every spring I write a plan in capital letters. Every autumn I write underneath it in small letters what really happened.
The useful part
The frost dates. Last frost, first frost, every year for nine years. That column is worth more than any book I own about gardening.
