Walking
The headland path in May
Green everywhere, sheep on the slope, and wind that never stops.
Erik Strand
The coastal path goes over a headland where the grass grows so fast in May you can almost watch it. The sheep keep it short near the edge. Further in it is up to your knees.
I walked it with a friend who talks a lot. Halfway the wind took every word out of his mouth and we walked in silence. He said later it was the best talk we ever had.
The cliff edge
There is no fence. There is a sign. The sheep do not read it either.
